Best semi-powerful laptop

As you may or may not know, I am in the market for a new computer, and I would like to make the most educated purchase possible, so I thought I would turn to my readers (all 3 of them!) I don’t really care about size, and money the budget is about $900 to $1200. I don’t really care too much about size, but I don’t want something bigger than 7lbs. (The last few laptops I have used were 8-10lbs, so just a little lighter would be nice.)  I would use it for some 3D stuff, but nothing particularly heavy, and maybe a little casual gaming.  The HDX 16 appeals most to me mostly becuase of it’s GPU (GT130M) and it’s display resolution (1080p).  I want a netbook for lightweight computing, but I need a fairly powerful laptop for photo editing, light 3D editing work.  Send your suggestions for something (GPU has to be 9600M or better, it can be an ATi Card too, though)

New feature

I am going to start taking requests for articles, and am also going to focus the blog a little more on the portable/mobile space rather than heavier gear. I am also working towards getting another writer, so there will be more content up. I hope you enjoy the changes being made to the blog.

The “Any” Key has joined Facebook, and has been on Twitter since the start of the blog. Follow on Facebook for some discussion boards and a Wall. Eventually, I will get a forum up on the site, as well as get a product database. I’ll try to keep you guys posted on the status of the forums and product database. Try and work up the traffic, the more readers we have, the more demand for forums, etc. Gonna try to have 2 more posts up later, if I get a chance to get on a computer.
